I got a new Coach bag at the Fashion Outlet in Primm, NV two weeks ago and it was a good buy for less than 84 dollars. We had a group shoot at a cool place, the Boot Hill Auto Salvage Yard near Butte, Alaska back in August 2010. The location was incredible - the place is full of classic cars and trucks in various stages of disrepair - it was a photographers dream - and toss Brittani into the mix and you have one of those "Life is very, very good days".
Brittani is one of our shooters group favorite models - she is an absolute blast to shoot with, drop dead gorgeous with brown hair, brown eyes, and great legs plus a very fun attitude. On this day she dressed up like a gangster's girl. Eric, Bee's boyfriend was there but I didn't have a chance to shoot with him - but my fellow shooters got some great couple shots of them. Thanks for yet another great shoot Bee!

The owner and founder of Comme des Garçons is Rei Kawakubo. This company, a private one, opened for business in the fashion industry in 1969. Since the opening of the company, there are now more than 12 boutiques and at least 200 merchants worldwide. One location considered high fashion in Tokyo (Aoyama) has flagship depots and one called “Place Vendome in Paris”, which is highly famous for its fashion line too. The business brings in annual revenue of approximately 0,000,000 (gross revenue). As of 2007, the business employed around 200 individuals.
Brief History of Commes des Garçons
Although Rei Kawakubo founded and opened the business in 1969, the company was not officially established until a few years later, in 1973. In Japan, the business became triumphant in the fashion industry in the mid-70s and added to their product line, for men, in 1978. In 1981, there was a show in the Paris location, which was a first appearance of Comme des Garçons and its leading fashion in “distressed” and “black” materials used in the clothing line. During the 1980s, this line of apparel frequently had a shattered appearance to it.
Once the debut in Paris completed, the company displayed pictures at some famous fashion locations in Paris. The pictures were the work of Peter Lindbergh. About 20 years later, another debut occurred in Tokyo. The debut consisted of marketing and illustrative sketches.
Comme des Garçons and its Fashion Line
The company uses a studio in Tokyo (Aoyama), where the fashion line is planned, but the rest of the products are finished in France, Japan, Turkey and Spain. The name of the studio where the company finishes making the clothing is the Comme des Garcons.
During the life of this company, they have created a few different collections. One collection earned the name “lumps and bumps” set. This apparel consisted of materials in vastness and little orbs on the articles of clothing, which looked like they had “lumps and bumps” on them. That was in 1997. This line of clothing created an association between the owner of the company and a choreographer from New York, Merce Cunningham, titled the “Scenario” assortment. This apparel was part of the spring and summer collected works.
Nine years later, in 2006, a new idea arose, which was “yssup”. The idea represented clothing and the various ways we introduce ourselves to the “sinep”. Blending customized masculine clothing with additional womanly constituents, for instance, floral patterns on the fabric, created “persona” and yet another assortment of fashion design that mixed female features into masculine garments. These collections were the fall and winter lines.
Commes des Garcons partners with many other famous brand name companies, like Levi Strauss, Converse footwear (All Star), Nike, Cutler and Gross, Lacoste, Speedo, Moncler, Hammerthor, Louis Vuitton, Chrome Hearts and numerous additional popular fashion businesses. The company joined forces with H&M and brought out a new line of clothing in the fall of 2008.

David Jones AW13 Fashion Launch: Sydney, Australia - 6th February 2013...
A good dose of Australia's social set gathered to watch top line models including Miranda Kerr and Megan Gale strut at David Jones' Elizabeth Street store from around 7pm this evening.
Thirty-seven designers including Alex Perry, Collette Dinnigan and Zimmerman showcased over 230 looks alongside DJs runway debutants, Ellery, Rachel Gilbert and Banjo and Matilda.
Dual tone colours and prints featured heavily throughout the evening while lace and leather made a big comeback.
The 175-year-old retailer has reluctantly embraced new technologies to lift struggling sales and this year's event was livestreamed (via the internet) for the benefit of those who missed out on one of the show's exclusive tickets.
David Jones' group executive of merchandise Donna Player said those who couldn't attend could keep track of what was happening on social media.
"Customer viewing parties are a first and there will be stylists there as well. They can watch the livestream from Sydney, drink champagne and participate in the whole event even though they aren't physically here," she told Murdoch owned The Telegraph.
"It's bringing social media back to that whole tactile experience because they are able to buy the clothes straight away, the majority of those looks are in store immediately."
Well done to everyone involved in the success of the event. Now to wait and see if it makes a difference to the bottom line of the high end retailer.

Run to the Sun is an Anchorage business for womens clothing and also tanning. They had a fashion show at the Women's Show in Anchorage, Alaska in April 2010. The show is pretty good but the lighting at the Sullivan Arena is absolutely horrible - like something out of a bomb shelter. Hopefully these photos aren't too bad. I met several of the models and shot with them at separate photo shoots - but it will take some time to post those photos.

Strangers in the Park Exchanging Dances

Yoyogi park in the Harajuku section of Tokyo is a wonderful place to people watch on the weekends. When we were there, several groups of folks sporting various 1950's American fashions were each dancing to music from different boomboxes a few feet from eachother. Variations on "The Twist" seemed to be the most popular steps.
Walking deeper into the park revealed small groups of people doing all sorts of interesting things. We saw a group of at least 10 people practicing ukelele together, several young men playing digeridoo, a squad of young ladies doing what looked like some sort of tai chi drills with tennis rackets, a human beatbox, tap dancers, cheerleaders, and many more. I could have happily spent hours there, just enjoying the variety of activities.
One group that was sadly lacking, at least in the areas we visited, were cosplayers and other folks in elaborate costumes (other than these dancers).
For years, Harajuku and Yoyogi park were apparently *the* place to see and be seen in your finest gear on the weekends, but it seems like that scene may have moved on...
